COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to impact all of us in so many ways, we need to re-think how we "do church" and “be the church.”  With everyone's health in mind, we are making the following temporary changes.

COVID-19 Update - 05/14/2020 - A Message regarding the WI Supreme Court Safer at Home Ruling from Six Bishops

COVID-19 Update - 05/12/2020 - A Pastoral Letter from Bishop Paul Erickson

COVID-19 Update - 4/8/2020 - As of April 8, the church office is closed.  Office staff will be working from home.  They are still checking voicemails and emails, and will get back to you as soon as they can.  We are all stll here for you, and we care about you!

Please welcome Pastor Bill Mains to Living Faith! He joined us on April 1 (no fooling!) as our interim pastor. As we are still unable to gather in person, Pastor Bill has recorded our Palm/Passion Sunday service for us.

Everlasting God, in your endless love for the human race you sent our Lord Jesus Christ to take on our nature and to suffer death on the cross. In your mercy enable us to share in his obedience to your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Service for Sunday, April 5 - Sunday of the Passion

Welcome to this, the last Wednesday in Lent. Just as Jesus enters into conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, and shows compassion, so, too, are we called to do the same. I give thanks to you for all the ways in which you are living out this call to show compassion, especially as we are apart during the pandemic. I miss you and look forward to when we can come back together, in community, to worship God together! It will be a joyous celebration of God and each other! God is faithful!  Midweek Lenten Sermon 4/1/2020

"Almighty God, your Son came into the world to free us all from sin and death. Breathe upon us the power of your Spirit, that we may be raised to new life in Christ and serve you in righteousness all our days, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever."

Thank you, Pastor Wohlfeil for today's message.  Sermon for Sunday, March 29 - Fifth Sunday in Lent

Thank you to Christ Lutheran Church (Belvidere, IL) for allowing us to join them in Soup (well, a soup recipe) Study and Song. Click on the link to give it a try! Lenten Wednesdays Anew: Soup. Study. Song. 3/25/2020

Our Racine Cluster Round Robin Mid-week Lenten series continues today, with another online sermon. Thank you Pastor Allison, from Journey in Faith, for our message on collaboration! Midweek Lenten Sermon 3/25/2020

Change in Office Hours Effective 3/23/2020

"Bend your ear to our prayers, Lord Christ, and come among us. By your gracious life and death for us, bring light into the darkness of our hearts, and anoint us with your Spirit, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever."

Thank you, Pastor Wohlfeil for our message today.  Sermon for Sunday, March 22 - Fourth Sunday in Lent

Upcoming Events Update 3/18/2020

Even if we aren't physically connected in worship, we can continue to support our congregation, its leaders, and the ministries we support with words of encouragement, offers of assistance, and our financial offerings.  We need to be church together for the sake of our congregation, our neighbors, our community and the world, perhaps now more than ever. Online giving is safe, quick and easy through Vanco.

We are blessed to have Christ Lutheran Church (Belvidere, IL) share "Lenten Wednesdays Anew" with us.  We are able to join them in Soup (well, a soup recipe) Study and Song.  Click on the link to give it a try! Lenten Wednesdays Anew: Soup. Study. Song. 3/18/2020.

Our mid-week Lenten series continues today, albeit a different format than originally planned! Pastor Krista, from Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, was scheduled to preach at Living Faith today, and has shared the following recording of her sermon about Nicodemus. Midweek Lenten Sermon 3/18/2020
